Hers Poetica

Supple and soft,
As the breezes waft,

Slight,
As a panther in the night,

Calm as the frigid winter’s ice
Of a simple pond from days gone by–

Fearless
As the country mouse.

*

Loving

As the wine bursts
bubble by bubble from bottles
uncorked,

As the wine oft appropriates,
Moment by moment, the memory,

As the wine ages,
Better in stages.

*

Sensual:
Not equal.

For joys and pains,
A plastered smile and gilded chains.

For time
The warm embrace of rhyme and refrain–

A woman should not question
But change.
